4 Simple Ways Small Businesses Can Give Back (During the Holiday Season and Beyond)

Giving back to our community and social responsibility are important to us at Capri Bookkeeping Solutions. Ethan Capri launched the company with the mission to help other budding small businesses thrive in South Jersey, Philadelphia, and beyond. More than just offering bookkeeping services, he had a philanthropic mindset. He set out to support the community and his partners by fostering relationships, connecting other professionals, and providing support to local community organizations.

Big businesses may have larger pocketbooks, that’s true, but small businesses can also make a significant impact in their community.

During this holiday season, consider these 5 simple ways that your small business can give back without breaking the bank:

#1 – Volunteer
Volunteering your time to local charities is a great way to get involved in the community. This time of year, many organizations host a variety of events and need volunteers to help. Consider offering your time to a local charity. Here in South Jersey, you can support Catholic Charities – Diocese of Camden or Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey, who is hosting a variety of upcoming holiday events.

Volunteering is also a great way to engage in team-building! Set aside time with your whole team or offer paid-time-off for employees to get out into the community and volunteer themselves.

#2 – Get Involved in a Charity Drive
If finances and time are in short supply, you can donate to a local charity drive. Homeless shelters, food banks, and non-profits like Toys for Tots are always in need of help and supplies. Here in South Jersey, Legacy Treatment Services, a non-profit offering behavioral and mental health for individuals of all ages, is hosting their annual Adopt a Family Campaign and Holiday Gift Drive. We are proud to be a sponsor of this year’s drive.

#3 – Support other Local Small Businesses
One of the simplest ways to give back to the community is by promoting other local businesses. Partner with your fellow small business owners on charity drives, leave them reviews and participate in Small Business Saturday.

#4 – Sponsor Charity Events
Finally, consider sponsoring a holiday charity event. Most non-profit organizations rely on donors and sponsorships to provide the critical services they offer. Reach out to your local non-profits and see how you can offer your support to an upcoming event or drive. This fall, Capri was proud to sponsor The Legacy Foundation – 2019 Golf Classic, and Ronald McDonald House, 37th Annual Legacy Golf Classic

We hope you’ll join us in offering your support to your community this holiday and beyond!
